Granada is the capital of the province Andalusia and beautifully situated on hills at the foot of the Sierra Nevada. The Moorish influence is still evident, with the most famous example the Alhambra. The Alhambra is situated on a rock high above the Río Darro. To the North you look over the old Moorish Albaicín district, in the South lie the snowy peaks of the Sierra Nevada.
