Privacy Policy
Pingroupie runs pingroupie.com. This page says what Pingroupie collects, why, who else sees it, and how you can have it deleted.
Your account
When you sign up, Pingroupie stores your email address and a hash of your password. If you sign in with Google, Pingroupie stores the email address Google confirms and Google's id for your account. Pingroupie uses your email address to sign you in, to send the mails you ask for, such as a password reset or the weekly pin digest, and to answer support requests.
Pinterest data
When you connect a Pinterest account, Pinterest asks you to allow Pingroupie to read your boards, read your pins, create pins and read your account details. Pingroupie then works with your Pinterest data like this:
- Profile — your Pinterest name, picture, bio, website, account type and follower counts are read from Pinterest each time a page shows them and are not stored.
- Boards — your board list is read from Pinterest when you choose a board and is not stored.
- Profile Analyzer — the report is read live from Pinterest each time; nothing from it is stored.
- Pins you publish through Pingroupie — Pingroupie keeps what you created in Pingroupie (image, title, description, link, board) and the id Pinterest gives the pin. A pin is published only after you approve it.
- Pin statistics — impressions, saves and clicks for the pins you published through Pingroupie, kept so the hub and your weekly pin digest can show how they do.
- Access tokens — the keys Pinterest issues for your account, kept so Pingroupie can publish the pins you approved.
Pingroupie does not sell Pinterest data, does not share it with anyone else and does not use it to advertise to you.
Disconnecting Pinterest
When you disconnect or remove a Pinterest account in the hub, Pingroupie deletes its access tokens, its profile data and the statistics of its pins at once. The pins you created stay in your history. You can also remove Pingroupie's access in your Pinterest settings; Pingroupie can then no longer read or publish anything for that account.
Payments
Paddle sells Premium on Pingroupie's behalf and handles the payment. Pingroupie never sees your card details; it receives your plan, its price and whether the subscription is active.
Visits and cookies
Pingroupie counts visits itself, with the page, the time, the referring site and your browser's details. It sets two cookies of its own: one keeps you signed in, and one, kept for a year, tells repeat visits apart. There are no advertising cookies.
Who else handles your data
- Pinterest — for the Pinterest features you use.
- Google — if you sign in with Google.
- Paddle — for payments.
- Mailgun — to deliver Pingroupie's mails.
Deleting your data
Write to support@pingroupie.com from your account's email address and Pingroupie deletes your account and everything stored for it.
Children
Pingroupie is not meant for anyone under 13 and does not knowingly collect their data. If a child under 13 has given Pingroupie personal data, write to support and it will be deleted.
